May Earth the Goddess,
who bears her treasure stored up in many a place,
gold, gems, and riches, giver of opulence,
grant great possessions to us, bestowing them with love and favor …
Pour … a thousand streams of treasure to enrich me!

Bhumi, also knows as Bhudevi and Prithvi (earth), is the personification of Earth as Goddess and is also a divine emanation of the Goddess Lakshmi.
Bhumi is the incarnation of the Great Mother as earth, literally that which holds everything. She is frequently depicted on the backs of four elephants, signifying Her stability. She is the fertility earth form of Lakshmi and Bhumi is also identified as the Mother of Sita – the Goddess who was born of the Earth.
She is groundedness, centering, and stability. She is offering the space for your creations of the present to manifest and become rooted into the world – the Earth.
Items that are sacred to Bhumi (and items that she is frequently shown holding) are a water vessel, pomegranate, a bowl of healing herbs, and a bowl of vegetables. Consuming a big bowl of veggies is another wonderful way to connect with Bhumi – see this Bhumi Bowl with recipe included.
She is life-giver, sustainer, and Mother of all living creatures. She is growth, abundance, prosperity, and the protection of natural resources. We frequently see Bhumi depicted with a green sari (life-giving) and/or with a large headdress. She is also associated with the blue lotus and is shown with an owl (Lakshmi’s mount) or elephants (the stability of Earth).
The four-armed Bhumi holds a pomegranate, a water vessel, a bowl of vegetables, and a bowl of herbs. In the standing position, Bhumi signifies her readiness to rush to the aid of her children.
Prithivi Mudra (Earth Mudra): Extend your fingers palm up. Bring the tip of your thumb and ring finger to touch. This mudra can be done at any time.
This mudra activates the earth element in your body and enhances your feelings of security and stability. When you have a strong and balanced earth element, you have a good sense of self and trust in what the universe will provide, trust in your own ability, and sense to know when to release attachments. This mudra is said to strengthen your nail, skin, hair, and bones.
