The 15-day Lunar or Chinese New Year Festival is a gorgeous feast of customs and ceremonies inviting good fortune, health and prosperity for the forthcoming Year of the Metal Ox arriving February 12th.
It’s believed that whatever happens during the festival determines your luck for the entire year! To that end, people will make the very most of it and will welcome the new energies with open arms of gratitude, great joy, and beautiful festivity greeting the year as they would a beloved friend and honored guest.
Although many of the Gods being welcomed are male deities, the Festival is also feminine as it always begins on the New Moon and ends on the Full Moon 15 days later with the Lantern Festival. The offerings and customs are full of color, scent, sound and beauty.
I’ll be joining Kimberly for a conversation about celebrating the Chinese New Year as well as offering a course at The Mystery School of the Goddess so please join me!
In the meanwhile, I’m offering a selection of Chinese New Year Treasures for you and your altars—please see the attached menu.
10,000 Blessings for the ending of the Year of the Metal Rat!
