“You are a warrior. All those other things, they are the glass that contains the lamp, but you are the light inside.” – Cassandra Clare
Fierce, powerful, terrifying, and protective, The Goddess as warrior is the aspect of feminine power which possesses the power to create and destroy. She is the nature of time, and death (as transformation), the darkness of the womb, and the void from which all things come from, and to which all things return.
This fierce, warrioress nature helps us to face, and dispel our inner demons of doubt, fear and sabotage that we may possess, and to stand up for ourselves—and our feminine nature. The warrior heart of The Goddess reminds us to call upon our inner strength and courage, and to trust that all will be revealed to you, even when you are not sure what to do.
Other Warrior Goddess associations are: war, conflict—especially inner conflict, battle, confrontation, fear, healing, courage, confidence, and triumph over ‘evil’.
Within our history as women, festers a very deep, very tender, and very unhealed wound, which has become a part of our collective feminine memory. We have been harmed, restricted, suppressed and ignored for millennia, and the female form has long been associated with taboo, shame and fear, which are all attempts to eclipse our sensuality, and beauty…and our power. Within the warrior heart of The Goddess we find ways to reclaim what has been taken from us, and we learn that no one, and no thing can take from us when we stand with Her at our side. It is through the heart of The Warrior Goddess, that we reclaim our self as powerful, and know ourselves as strong, capable, magnificent, and divine.
Often, the powerful, formidable force of The Warrior is difficult to maneuver, for to face The Goddess as warrior is to face the loss of our power head-on, which can be terrifying, as this is not a sweet, nurturing experience with Her, but rather it is stunning, awakening experience that strips away the illusion that we are less than, that we are not worthy, and it also illumines any false humility that we may have lurking within the shadow. This stripping away lays us bare at Her feet, shaking with the fear of annihilation, until this fear simply burns away, and the parts of us that must die off, do so, and we rise from this with our heart as strong as Hers, forever changed, and forever filled with the divine power of The Warrior Goddess.
