“Mighty, majestic, and radiant,
You shine brilliantly in the evening,
You brighten the day at dawn,
You stand in the heavens like the sun and the moon,
Your wonders are known both above and below,
To the greatness of the Holy Priestess of Heaven,
To you, Inanna, I sing!”
~ Diane Wolkstein, Inanna, Queen of Heaven and Earth
The April Full Moon is in Libra and occurs on Friday, April 19th at 7:13am eastern time. This is the second Full Moon in Libra (the first was on Spring Equinox) and this is an unusual occurrence. Venus, the ruling planet of Libra, is back to bring the blessings for this moon! This lunation is called the Pink Moon and brings to mind the burst of blossoms that are spreading with the energy of Spring. We too are positioned to BLOOM.
This Full Moon brings in issues of balance for both the self and others. How are you managing your relationships? Is your self care and protection suffering due to the attention given to outer relationships? Within your relationships, are your emotions being acknowledged and supported?
Libra Full Moon is also about beauty (like the Goddess Inanna!) and the sweetness of life. Where is your sparkle? Have you done a Spring Clean on your home?
The day after the Full Moon, Venus enters Aries and we finally leave behind this particularly potent Pisces season. Venus in Aries jumpstarts our passion, our creativity. Since Venus also rules the Libra Full Moon, look for some forward movement and a renewed enthusiasm for creative projects. Think MANIFESTATION!
This oracle reading is part of our NEW Goddess Circles on Patreon which include monthly Full Moon and New Moon Divinations. I would love you to join the circles and support MotherHouse while getting juicy Goddess content!
Wishing you ALL the Blessings of this Libra Moon!
Inanna is the Sumerian Goddess and Queen of Heaven and Earth. She is Venus, the Morning and Evening Star. Inanna at her height is the fertility of Earth, the lush abundance of Goddess. She is sustenance, nourishment, and evokes the sacred rites of love and union. As well, she is the much beloved Queen and represents civilization.
The most famous myth about Inanna that has survived to modern day is about her descent. She descends into the Underworld, the home of Her sister Ereshkigal, stopping at each of the seven gates and leaving one piece of her clothing and jewelry at each gate. Inanna arrives in the Underworld naked and vulnerable and face to face with her dark sister Erishkegal.
As I said above Inanna is a civilized Goddess and represents all the trappings of civilization and thriving city-states. Erishkegal is the unconscious, the wild feminine, and the very opposite of civilized. We must descend so that we may rise again, but it does not make the descent or time in the Underworld easier. This myth and Inanna and Ereshkigal is call to balance our light and shadow, to unite our civilized side with our deep wildness.
I, Queen of Heaven
Traveled to take hold of the Underworld
Through seven gates I passed
Stripped o fmy garments – the seven divine powers
Until naked, I sat on my dark sister’s throne
Seven judges with the look of death, with the speech of anger
With the shout of heavy guily, slew me
Through nature, reborn, I ascended
Travel with me into your dark unconscious
And rise again naturally

Inanna as a Goddess for this Full Moon is calling us to balance, to release our fear of the descent, to understand that we are all things, all light and shadow together. Only in union with all aspects of our Selves are we at our most authentic, most powerful. With Saturn and Pluto both stationing retrograde this month, we will have opportunities over the next few months to experience our own descents. Working with the cycles of Pluto and Saturn can reveal important lessons and opportunities for karmic resolution. Take Inanna with you in your descent and know that Goddess is with us in even the darkest depths.

ANIMAL ALLY: PIG SPIRIT
Can I express to you how much I love this card? When pigs fly! This winged pig made me laugh right out loud! Pig Spirit brings us counsel to use our intelligence, united with our intuition, wisely. Discernment is one of the most valuable tools in life, personally, professionally, and spiritually. Think of the pigs that seek out truffles, sometimes finding them as deep as three feet underground! Time to get our seeking self on and the guidance of a winged pig never hurts! How are you processing your experiences from the winter to inform your renewal of Spring?
Libra is an air sign and renowned for its intellect, strategy, and reason. This Full Moon invites you to approach situations with the “power couple” of intellect and intuition. Tap your inherent wisdom to align with clear-minded analysis to give you guidance in next steps and seek treasures.

ORACLE CARD: CONNECTION
A Full Moon is a culmination, a gathering of all the radiant light of Luna, but throughout her lunations, we also see her in all of her forms … waxing, waning, crescent, and dark. No matter where the Moon is in her cycle, we are connected. Her tides and rhythms play subtly on our senses and physicality. As women, we have opportunities to wax and wane with her throughout our lunations as well.
The Libra Moon focuses on relationships … our connections. Commit to those relationships that uplift you, support you, inspire you! Take stock of what relationships are not working and how to shift them or release them. As well, analyze your resources and how they flow for you. As the second Libran Moon in a month, also pay attention to what was happening at the Spring Equinox and how you may utilize your connections to move a project forward or evolve a relationship.

Honeysuckle brings her sweet spirit to our Full Moon and with a moon so influenced by Libra, honeysuckle is perfect. She represents happiness, joy, sweetness, determination, and domestic bliss. What brings sweetness to your life? Who are the people, activities, times that bring you joy? Honeysuckle may be used in altar work to “sweeten” your spells and enchantments.
