Lauri Ann Lumby

Lauri Ann Lumby, OM, MATS is an author, teacher, priestess, healer and prophet. She is the author of the highly-anticipated, Song of the Beloved – the Gospel According to Mary Magdalene and Authentic Freedom, both of which reveal the hidden teachings of Jesus as revealed through his most devoted student, co-equal minister and beloved partner, Mary Magdalene. For over twenty years, Lauri has researched, studied and put into practice these hidden teachings of the Judeo-Christian tradition and discovered within them rich and effective tools for facilitating self-awareness and self-actualization. These teachings and practices prove that beyond the doctrine resides the truth that unites all people – the truth of Oneness in Love. As a priestess of the Magdalene/Christ, Lauri shares these teachings through her on-line and local courses, one-on-one mentoring, writing and publishing.

Lauri is the owner of Authentic Freedom Academy and founder of the Order of the Magdalene. She lives in Oshkosh, WI. You can learn more about Lauri, her writings, programs and services at https://templeofthemagdalene.com/.

Lessons on Loneliness {Lauri Ann Lumby}

I have had many conversations with fellow mystics on the topic of loneliness. As mystics we ARE different from the norm, usually pretty far-left of center. Many find it difficult to relate to or understand us. Others are hesitant to draw near because of the light we shine on the love they are, which they are perhaps not yet ready to be. We think, move, act, believe, see, differently and some find this disturbing. All […] Read more »

The Magdalene’s Lament {Lauri Ann Lumby}

My Beloved Christ, For 2000 years I’ve awaited your return. As you wander the hallowed halls of the heavenly kingdom, I have languished in my earthly prison, forever and always alone, and longing for you. As you are serenaded by a choir of heavenly hosts, I am plagued by the suffering cries of humanity – howling, weeping, begging, groveling and gnashing their teeth for an end to their suffering. And I suffer along with them […] Read more »

Surviving Midlife {Lauri Ann Lumby}

The sometimes treacherous journey from childbirth to birthing ourselves. Somewhere between the ages of 35 and 45, (and which continues until our death) we begin the process of the midlife journey – a process through which we move beyond childbearing to birthing ourselves.  For many, the advent of this transition comes in the form of a rude awakening, personal crisis or tragedy and continues through volatile physical and emotional changes which seem at once to be disconcerting […] Read more »

They Still Burn Witches {Lauri Lumby}

The following is an excerpt from Lauri Ann Lumby’s newest course The Dark Goddess in the Bible.”  To learn more Click HERE.  The story of the Witch at Endor in the First Book of Samuel (see full scripture reading below) is an interesting example of women’s power and how the patriarchy eventually bows to feminine power – especially when their own life is at stake. Clearly, the gifts of the witch at Endor were previously […] Read more »

The Book of Remembrance {Lauri Ann Lumby}

The Hebrew prophet Malachi spoke of the Book of Remembrance in which “God” wrote about all those who revered “the Lord” (Malachi 3:16). Malachi wrote of this Book of Remembrance during a time and within a culture where people believed themselves to be separate from the Divine and who believed in a (male) God of judgment and wrath. Malachi’s understanding of the Book of Remembrance was limited by the veil of separation which seemed to […] Read more »

We Are the Superheroes We’ve Been Waiting For {Lauri Ann Lumby}

We know who the superheroes are.  Batman.  Wonder Woman.  Bat Girl. Iron Man. Superman.  Spiderman.  The Hulk.  Captain America.  Catwoman (you’ll know what I mean if you’ve seen Dark Knight Rising!)  and one for the kids:  The Powerpuff Girls. In the immortal words of Mighty Mouse, superheroes “have come to save the day.”  Superheroes have been gifted with magical powers and/or magical gadgets which allow them to save the world from evil.  Superheroes are cool.  Superheroes rock.  […] Read more »

Mary Magdalene is the Moon {Lauri Ann Lumby}

For 2000 years, the lunar aspect of Christianity has been missing.  Very early in the evolution of Christianity, the Holy Feminine was supplanted by the ruling paradigm of the Roman world which was patriarchal, hierarchical, rooted in fear, power and control.  For 2000 years, the feminine has languished under the dominion of this unholy expression of the masculine (not to be confused with the Holy Masculine which Jesus represented, but not the religion that was […] Read more »

The Alchemy of Mary Magdalene {Lauri Lumby}
