Each month for me is a consecration – a sacred practice of beginning a brand new journal and adorning that journal. I do a vision board (of sorts) in the beginning and what I love most about vision boarding is that where you begin is never where you end up. Also part of consecrating my month is choosing a word or theme for the month. Of course, I include my Goddesses that are overseeing my month.
My word for this November is Grace. I found this quote from the Irish poet John O’Donohue and it struck me deeply:
“Grace is one of the most majestic words in theology. It suggests the sublime spontaneity of the divine which no theory or category could ever capture. Grace has its own elegance. It is above the mechanics of agenda or operation. No one can set limits to the flow of grace. Its presence and force remain unmeasurable and unpredictable. Grace also suggests how fluent and seamless the divine presence is. There are no compartments, corners or breakages imaginable in the flow of grace. Grace is the permanent climate of divine kindness. It suggests a compassion and understanding for all the ambivalent and contradictory dimensions of the human experience and pain. This climate of kindness nurtures the sore landscape of the human heart and urges torn ground to heal and become fecund. Grace is the perennial infusion of springtime into the winter of bleakness.” ~ John O’Donohue from Dreamwork with Toko-pa
Grace is the permanent climate of divine kindness … I invite you to make permanent that climate of kindness not only with others but, most importantly, with yourself.
My November is encircled with grace. I am also embracing quiet, nourishment, rest, reflection, and my interior self. I am seeking to refill my well. More Goddess, more reading, more writing, more journeying, more chanting. This is all part of Grace for me. To give myself the space I need to really rest and fill up. Space to reconnect to my daily practices more deeply.
How are you consecrating your month? Where can you find the space, the grace, for what you truly need? Can you commit to more rest, more reflection, more dreaming? Is there a Goddess that is standing with you? Guardians? What is refilling your well? How can you create a “permanent climate of divine kindness”? Sound juicy and nourishing? Let’s do it together! I included some Grace resources below for you!
Our MotherHouse Goddess Temple free event for November is the Baba Yaga Full Moon which also happens to be a partial lunar eclipse in Taurus – this should be fun! The altars at MotherHouse are alight with prayers and blessings being sent to our Community, our Beloveds, and our World. I am also dreaming and visioning all kinds of wonderful for all of us in 2022!
