FULL MOON IN PISCES SEPTEMBER 1-2, 2020
This Full Moon falls in the sign of Pisces, the twelfth sign of the zodiac; the mutable, shape-shifting, water sign, which rules the magical, emotional realms of the subconscious and dream worlds. It is the sign of the poet and mystic; the artist and healer; the savior and sinner; the shaman and physicist. The sign of Pisces is considered the Key to the Subconscious and the vast ocean of collective human memory. Edgar Cayce calls this the “akashic record”. Memories and dreams, which have been buried just below consciousness now, come to the surface offering more insight and information. This is a good time to look to your dreams for messages.
During this Full Moon the Sun is exactly opposite the Moon in the sign of Virgo. Both of these signs have to do with the idea of “service”. Pisces asks us to be in service to our spiritual nature, our soul’s path; while Virgo asks that we respect and care for our physical body, the temple of the soul. Pisces is probably the most misunderstood sign of the zodiac; and like its symbol, the two fishes swimming in opposite directions, it is a sign that embraces both duality and Oneness, the universe where subatomic physics and religion merge. The old age of Pisces was associated with the symbol of the fish; now as we move forward in our evolutionary process, Pisces becomes the “Grail” which holds the elixir of life, symbolizing our baptism in the New Age.
Pisces rules the feet, as well as the lymph system of the body; Virgo rules the stomach, digestive processes and brain chemistry. If your Sun or Moon is in the sign of Pisces (or its opposite sign Virgo) it is part of your soul signature to be of service in your own way. Healers, doctors, nurses, and health professions of all types fall under the rulership of Pisces/Virgo. Since the sign Pisces rules the unconscious, creative process of the right brain, many actors, musicians, artists, spiritual leaders, and scientists have Pisces planets prominent in their birth charts. Pisceans are very sensitive and emotional creatures, but they can also get lost in their own inner worlds. They are amazing healers and artists; however, they can become overloaded with emotions from other people, as well as their own.
This Full Moon will highlight your inner Muse. This is a message from the Universe to pay more attention to the creative, emotional and spiritual aspects of your life now. If we do not recharge our psychic batteries, we run a very major risk of psychic infection. If you have been feeling “out of it” or somewhat disconnected from reality over the past few days, you are not alone. The nature of Pisces is to have us become an empty vessel letting go of guilt, blame and anything that holds us in darkness.
During this Full Moon time, find positive ways to channel the Piscean energy: meditation, yoga, listening to music, watching a good film, having a massage, going to the beach, or just taking some “quiet time” to yourself. We cannot be of service to others, if we don’t pay attention to our own needs. We cannot thrive as a species, if all we do is feed ourselves a constant diet of stress and chaos. Pisces is the quintessential water sign that symbolizes the vast ocean of the collective unconscious: our feelings, memories and dreams. It is where we surrender our individual egos and become ONE with God, the universe, nature, art…wherever we connect with the divine flow energy that is outside rational time and space.
This Full Moon is the perfect time for beginning a spiritual practice; and if you already have one do more of it. Turn off the news for a while, and tune into nature. Even if you are housebound or have allergies, there are fantastic free audio meditation recordings available with the healing sounds of nature, water, flute music, etc. As the new school year begins, your children are probably doing on-line learning at home at least part-time. Quietly playing meditation music in the background allows them to concentrate with less anxiety. It will also assist them (and you) to sleep better. The covid “chill out” time is the perfect opportunity for cultivating a healthier body and mind.
PLANETARY PICTURES: This Full Moon is in conjunction with Neptune (the higher octave of the Moon, as well as the ruler of Pisces). The greatest lesson that Pisces has to offer is that of unconditional love and compassion. Think about where you can give or receive more love in your life; where you can refrain from judging others negatively; and always be in gratitude for whatever is good in your life.
Moon in Pisces Sextile Uranus in Taurus and Jupiter in Capricorn: This transit offers hope amidst the past weeks of fluctuating frustration. Sudden ideas and inspiration can inspire very positive action now. Some of these ideas can come through in dreams, meditations, journal writing, or walking in nature as the Moon in Pisces opens the right brain to the flow of universal consciousness. On a collective level, we may see more humane, as well as practical, approaches to social problems dealing with human suffering.
Sun in Virgo Sextile: Uranus in Taurus: The Sun in Virgo now forms a very positive aspect (called an Earth trine) with Uranus in the sign of Taurus. This is good news for moving forward with practical ideas, and building a solid new foundation from the old. The Sun in Virgo supplies the necessary focus to take care of details and organize everyday routines, while Uranus provides the will-power and creativity to carry out these goals. This is a positive energy set-up for the coming Virgo planetary season in September (more to come).
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING: Pisces is the 12th and last sign of the zodiac and has been traditionally associated with spiritual realms, as well as healing. In ancient Egypt, it was symbolized by the Egyptian God, Nefertum, the patron of aromatherapy and sacred oils. In Egyptian mythology, Nefertum was depicted as a lotus flower rising from the primal waters at the creation of the world. The science of aromatherapy or “scent alchemy” in ancient Egypt was a sacred art and intrinsic in magical ceremonies and ritual. The blue lotus is depicted on every temple and tomb signifying the codes for immortality. We know that scent opens up pathways in the brain associated with memories. Oils also carry electromagnetic frequency. Our brains get “amped up”, and new neuronal pathways open up. One of the best ways to release emotional overload is by aromatherapy massage. It stimulates cellular memory and releases toxins at the same time; a wonderful way to treat yourself during the Pisces Full Moon!
MEDITATION WITH NEFERTUM, EGYPTIAN GOD OF THE BLUE LOTUS: Find a quiet and safe space to meditate; light a white or blue candle. Take a few deep breaths, empty your mind, and relax. You are now ready to set your intention for healing and releasing old toxic emotions. Breathe deeply and feel yourself connecting from the deepest core of the planet to the heart of the Milky Way. Standing before you, you see a beautiful young man with a blue lotus flower opening on his 7th chakra. He is Nerfertum, the Egyptian god of the cosmic lotus, who rises every morning with the sun. Nefertum leads you to a lovely reflective pool filled with blue lotus flowers. Their fragrance uplifts your senses and opens your crown chakra. You notice that the flowers also emit a musical tone. As you hear this vibration, a code is unlocked within your DNA. You now feel a cosmic blue-white shaft of light beam from the Full Moon into your third eye. This beam grows and grows into spinning sun of diamond white light, which spins itself into to your Heart. Now, feel the diamond “sun” turn morph into a beautiful blue lotus, which opens in your heart. Imagine your entire body getting nourished from the nectar of this diamond sun and blue lotus flower. Take some time to feel this liquid light spread throughout your entire body. Ask your guides to help align you with your highest soul purpose during this time. Give thanks for all that you have seen and felt. You are now walking in the Light of your higher consciousness in peace and love. Make you walk in Truth and Beauty always!
