From our Guest Priestess Michelle Boxley:
The Wheel of the Year is turning once again and we are welcoming in Summer Solstice, also called Litha and Alban Hefin. Summer Solstice is one of the three spirit nights of the wheel of the year, where the veil between worlds thins and we can connect to the Elemental realm and the magic of the Fae. What better way to connect with the Fae than by connecting with the Irish Faery Queen Aine?
Goddess Aine is both a solar and lunar Goddess and therefore teaches us the important balance between light and dark, lunar and solar, yin and yang and masculine and feminine. Aine is a sovereign Goddess of both the land and waters in Ireland and Midsummer feasts were held in her name as people asked her to bless the land and their growing crops. She represents abundance, prosperity, wealth and joy and also symbolizes the mother archetype which is associated with the season of Summer.
As we connect to this powerful time of the year when the Sun is at its highest point, we can call upon Goddess Aine to bless the crops of our own intentions and wishes. We can ask her to shine light on the darkest corners of our mind so that we can transform and transcend and bathe in her lunar aspect to receive healing and tranquillity.
