Hello Everyone,
This month we have BIG astrological news with a lunar eclipse, Saturn/Pluto conjunction and Uranus moving direct all within a few days! Solar eclipses herald outer events; lunar eclipses are felt more on the emotional level. The Capricorn Solar eclipse of 12/26 was just two weeks ago, but major global events have transpired since then. As with all major astrological events, cycles flow within cycles…think back to the last set of eclipses at the beginning of January, and also mid-July of 2019. Eclipses also travel in 19-year patterns; this cycle goes back to the year 2000-2001, the beginning of the New Millennium. What has shifted in your life since then? What would you like to change? Now is the time!

FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE IN CANCER: JANUARY 10, 2020
A Lunar eclipse is a Full Moon with exclamation points! This Full Moon, which is also a partial lunar eclipse falls in the sign of Cancer, the cardinal water sign which rules our emotions, memories, our connection to Mother, as well as our connection to the Divine Feminine. Esoteric astrology teaches that it is in the sign of Cancer that we emerge from the safety and security of the cosmic womb and give birth to ourselves as the Divine Child. Cancer is the feminine water sign, the “womb of life”, which rules over motherhood and family, the tribe, our home, hereditary karmic “roots” and inherited psychological patterns.
The “shadow” side of the eclipse allows us to do deep psychological work with our own “shadow”, and subconscious. Dream work, spiritual and psychological counseling, journaling, are just a few .of the tools available to help facilitate our process. We can totally “reboot” old programing and begin a new 19 year chapter in our lives. Since this is a lunar eclipse, this may set up emotionally charged situations with women, especially since Cancer is the moon’s home sign and pertains to women, families, and our emotions. Relationship epiphanies are likely to occur, since we just can’t ignore our feelings any longer. How have we been treating ourselves emotionally? Do we deny that we have any emotional needs at all? Are we afraid of being vulnerable? Are we too needy or co-dependent in relationships?
Cancerians have an intense need for security; they tend to wear their emotions on their sleeves, or they may insulate themselves with material comforts as a defense mechanism. We all have heard that Cancerians love to nurture (whether male or female), and are natural empaths, sensitive to the feelings of others. This is because Moon Children are ruled by the subtle currents of the subconscious and make excellent psychics, teachers, artists and writers, as well as psychologists. They also love history and antiques, and decorating comes naturally to them.
Psychologically, where the sign Cancer falls in your birth chart (by House placement) is where you are being asked to clear away past emotional clutter, and accept your “Divine (Inner) Child” aspect. No matter what your Sun Sign, this Full Moon eclipse is a good time to spend a few quiet moments reflecting on what is important in your life; what you are thankful for; and what you would like to change in the coming weeks.
The US is a Cancerian country (born on the 4th of July), and one of our most cherished symbols is the Statue of Liberty. She holds out the torch of promise that life, liberty and happiness are the rights of all, not just the privileged few. 2020 is an election year, and the next four years coincide with the Pluto Return of the US birth chart. I will write more on this in the future. This particular eclipse continues the themes which echo back to January and July 2019. Emotions may run high over the next six months regarding homeland security, immigration, food and housing. Another indicator is that more women candidates, as well as women’s issues, will be important newsmakers over the next few months.
PLANETARY PICTURES:
Saturn/Pluto Conjunction in Capricorn with Capricorn Stellium: Once again we are looking at the “loaded” deck of five planets in the earth sign Capricorn (Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto – see my New Moon Eclipse in Capricorn 12/26/19 update). Since the spring of 2019, we have been laboring under the heavy influence of the Saturn/Pluto conjunction phase, and now, with this eclipse, it is exact and final on January 12th. Actions speak louder than words now…but we MUST be mindful of our actions, as there is no turning back. Saturn and Pluto take no prisoners! But there is good news with the planet Jupiter also added into the mix. With Jupiter we can call on our inner FAITH to create new solutions to old problems and move past limiting belief structures of the old patriarchal system. It is now time to merge left brain, patriarchal thinking with intuition, feeling and compassion of the Divine Feminine. In addition, Uranus, “the Great Awakener” moves direct on January 10th. This affords humanity the window of opportunity to break free from rigid thinking patterns on a collective level. Technical ingenuity, increased intuition, and new scientific discoveries can replace “bullying” and aggression as problem solving solutions.
Full Moon in Cancer Trine Neptune in Pisces:
This positive aspect gives us respite from the heavy depressive qualities of the Capricorn stellium, if we know how to use it. With all of these earth and water planets, it is very easy to get stuck in “doom and gloom” thinking, rather than remaining positive and optimistic (the realm of the fire signs). The Full Moon in positive aspect with Neptune (and Mercury) is all about using your imagination to reshape your perception. Meditate and dream. Use art, music, dance, ritual, and nature as your tools for transformation. There is a reason why the ancient wise Ones knew that beauty and art is sacred.
Welcome to the Temple Beautiful!
Blessings,
Mary
