“If eternity had a season, it would be midsummer. Autumn, winter, spring are all change and passage, but at the height of summer the year stands poised. It’s only a passing moment, but even as it passes the heart knows it cannot change.” ~ Ursula K. Le Guin
Summer Solstice is the longest day and shortest night of the year and is occurring June 21 in the Northern Hemisphere. Goddess is LIGHT and FIRE. As the summer fruits and flowers continue to bloom, Goddess invites us into Her creation-phase, to participate with laughter, love, and celebration. She is stoking the fires to bring imagination into form; evoking growth and light for the seeds of our deepest desires. Luminous, effulgent, and in Her power, Goddess is genesis and reminds us that we too are Creatrix in Her image. The theme is Manifestation.
Summer has some interesting Astrology coming soon. Eclipse season starts with the July 2 New Moon Solar Eclipse in Cancer. Mary Lomando and I will be doing a podcast to give you all the details and also to talk about Mercury Retrograde. The shadow phase of Mercury Retrograde begins June 20 (but has been rearing its head already!) and the official dates for retrograde stations is July 7 (in Leo) and August 1 (in Cancer).
The Goddesses of Summer are calling us to wrap ourselves in the light and bounty of summer. It is a halfway point in the year and worth taking the time for a review of your intentions for the year.
Wishing you all the blessings of Summer and the Goddesses of Summer! May you be blessed in all things!
