Goddess Alive Radio welcomes one of our favorite storytellers, Maia Toll, to talk about her new book, The Illustrated Herbiary, coming out on August 7!
Rosemary is for remembrance; sage is for wisdom. The symbolism of plants — whether in the ancient Greek doctrine of signatures or the Victorian secret language of flowers — has fascinated us for centuries. Contemporary herbalist Maia Toll adds her distinctive spin to this tradition with profiles of the mysterious personalities of 36 herbs, fruits, and flowers. Combining a passion for plants with imagery reminiscent of tarot, enticing text offers reflections and rituals to tap into each plant’s power for healing, self-reflection, and everyday guidance. Smaller versions of the illustrations are featured on 36 cards to help guide your thoughts and meditations.
Each botanical entry shares the mythology and energy of that particular plant, as well as a ritual and reflection. The cards (which are included in the back of EVERY book!) are a delight with rich colors and symbology that draw you into the vibration of each botanical. They have been my go-to cards for the past few morning meditations.
The Illustrated Herbiary is available for pre-order NOW and if you order the book before August 7, 2018, you also receive a FREE ONLINE COURSE, Secrets of the Illustrated Herbiary, where Maia teaches you how she came into relationship with nature and how you can too.
The Illustrated Herbiary is a treasure that you will return to again and again to find a new plant ally, reconnect with a special medicine, or just sync with the magic that Maia brings. Ready to order your copy??

Ordered the book! Sounds amazing and so useful, another way to connect to the Spirit of the Plants. My approach to Herbalism has changed over the years from…..I have to know every herb and what it is used for…..to just a love of herbs and plants and how can I use the herb in magic. The basic knowledge of herbs is invaluable. The living in love with the plants is so much more natural and satisfying. I was so happy to hear Maia talk about her being who she is magically. Great interview, will watch for more! ❤️
Great interview. So ordering the book and signed up for her blog. 🙂 Thanks!!!
Sound quality for Maia was challenging. Kimberly’s quality was perfect.
