“Mine is the Month of Roses; yes, and mine
The Month of Marriages! All pleasant sights
And scents, the fragrance of the blossoming vine,
The foliage of the valleys and the heights.
Mine are the longest days, the loveliest nights;
The mower’s scythe makes music to my ear;
I am the mother of all dear delights;
I am the fairest daughter of the year.”
– Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
June is here and summer seems to be steadily extending its enchantment into all aspects of our world. These days are the longest of the year and will culminate in the Summer Solstice. How are you filling these magical days of warmth and laughter?
Summer Solstice is the longest day and shortest night of the year and is occurring June 21 in the Northern Hemisphere this year. Goddess is all light and fire now.
Throughout summer, Goddess continues to ripen, to reveal Herself magnificently in the harvests of summer. This is Her manifestation, Her physical promise of nourishment for us during the fallow season. The summer heat seeps into our bones and kindles our souls. The bees sing mantras of the Great Mother and fertility. We play on the shores of the Mother of Oceans, Rivers and Lakes and bathe ourselves in Her sacred waters.
Our June Goddess Calendar is coming out in time for the MAY Full Moon in Sagittarius on May 29 – sparking the fires of the upcoming Solstice and season for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. It is a busy Goddess HolyDay month and I am delighted to announce two new features for the blog: monthly Marian Devotions and monthly Tara Devotions!
