Hello Everyone, I am leaving for Egypt in a few days and I will resume my years’ end newsletter in December. Traditionally, November begins the season where we enjoy family and friends give thanks for our blessings. However, as I write this we are, once again, undergoing the collective trauma of a tragic event on US soil.
This Full Moon in Taurus brings forth questions regarding trust and security, both physical and emotional. Trusting that the universe is safe, and that there is a deeper meaning behind ALL events leads us into the realms where mysticism and quantum physics meet. It takes a BIG leap of faith to realize that fear is merely an illusion, but that is the dilemma we humans face right now.
This Taurus Full Moon is all about connecting with your inner peace; the peace of the Buddha, the Christ, and the Great Mother. Take time this weekend to feel Mother Earth beneath your feet; honor Her; respect all life forms; take good care of your body and, most importantly, have compassion for yourself and others.
FULL MOON IN TAURUS NOVEMBER 3 -4 , 2017
This month’s Full Moon falls in the Earth sign Taurus, while the sun is in the opposite water sign, Scorpio. This is a “Super Moon”, which means that it looks larger to the eye, and Earth’s gravitational tides intensify along with our human emotional tides. Both Taurus and Scorpio deal with our security barometers: Taurus with our material resources, possessions and physical/sensual gratification; Scorpio deals with emotional security, power, sexuality and the occult or hidden side of the human condition. The Taurus/Scorpio axis deals with the stuff of psychoanalysis, the Shadow and the dark side of the Moon. It is also the rich, deep alchemical process of dissolution, transformation and rebirth.
The Taurus Full Moon is also linked to the Pleiades, or “Seven Sisters”, the star cluster revered by all indigenous cultures as our spiritual home base. In ancient Egypt, the Goddess Hathor was also associated with Taurus, as the cosmic life-giver and nurturer of humanity.
Personally Speaking: Taurus is a feminine earth sign ruled by Venus; her motto is “Make love, not war”. The Moon in Taurus is your comfort zone; it is where you find your inner “security blanket”. The Moon in Taurus is represented by the Great Earth Mother, nurturing and safe.
Taureans appreciate the finer things in life, and usually take great pride in what they create. Their artistic talents can be expressed through music, art, dance, fashion, architecture, and especially food. They can also be very adept in the financial world of banking and real estate. They like to feel solid ground beneath their feet, and do best when they can spend time in nature, or at least a garden.
A Full Moon in Taurus is the perfect time to indulge in a massage; beautiful dinner; musical concert; or quiet weekend. Your body is your Temple; honor yourself and celebrate life!
Jupiter is in Scorpio for the next year, and it is conjunct the Sun during this Full Moon time. On a personal level, what this means is that we are in a time with huge possibilities for expansion as long as we do not allow our egos and/or our emotional reactions to become exaggerated or inflated out of proportion. Take a reality check on where you stand emotionally; do not allow others opinions or beliefs to dictate your conscience. If you have the courage to “let go” and forgive old hurts, the universe has much better things in store for you.
On the collective level, we will see major political power plays, scandals, and betrayals come out into the open. Scorpio loves secrets (especially regarding sex and money) and Jupiter rules big government. It will be an interesting year, indeed!
Saturn and Uranus (both in the fire sign Aries)
Normally, Saturn and Uranus do not get along well, but right now, they positively aspect each other. These are outer planets which affect great changes in society. This aspect promotes the strength and courage to change old forms (Saturn) and brings an innovative, inspired view to the table (Uranus). As with all things Uranian, there may be a few unexpected surprises in store, but this positive trine says there is great opportunity for building the new without absolutely destroying the old. Creative changes are long overdue!
