This has been an extremely challenging time on planet earth since the August 2017 eclipses. Major catastrophes of every kind seem to dominate the world headlines. As I write this, we are just hearing the news of the worst mass shooting in US history. This is a harsh and tragic lesson, but one that will continue until every human learns that “evil” can only exist in a world full of fear, hate and soul-lessness. The keys out of this dilemma have been given by the Great Master Teachers for thousands of years: feel love and compassion for all God’s creation, including yourself.
This Full Moon in Aries makes a very challenging aspect with the planet, Pluto, “triggering” the collective shadow/ the “dark” side. However, the antidote to fear and violence is love, and the outpouring of compassion and healing after any major catastrophe is a collective catharsis. Let us pray that we are “trending” out of the need for collective mass hysteria, violence and fear in order to bring us together as loving members of the human race.

FULL MOON IN ARIES OCTOBER 5, 2017:
Aries is the sign the symbolizing raw energy, courage, and the will to live. It is ruled by the planet Mars, the planet of war, blood and conquerors, but Aries is also the sign of the Hero Archetype; he is no coward. During every Full Moon, the sun is in the opposite sign of the Moon. The Sun is in the sign of Libra during this Full Moon emphasizing the need for balance, diplomacy, reciprocity in our relationships, and most of all, Love. Finding the balance between these two (Aries/Libra) polarities is no easy task. It is the balance between male/female; yin/yang; love/hate; dark/light. As long as we exist in a world of duality, we will be faced with the issue of reconciling opposite extremes. The key is merging the opposites within our own psyche; recognizing our own shadow, and forgiving ourselves and others. There is no other way out of the “Matrix”.
The sign of Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, the cardinal fire sign. This Full Moon is the first Full Moon following the Autumn Equinox; hence, we are still at a time of crucial balance; a crossroads where it is urgently necessary to declare our intentions for LIFE as major paradigms are collapsing around us. Massive changes are immanent on this planet (as they always have been); but what is changing/evolving (or should be) is our consciousness about these global “shifts”. Now is the time to invoke our Higher Guidance, Spirit Guides, Angels, and the God/Goddess within to assist us in navigating these tidal waves of change that serve to push us out of our comfort zones and into areas that will test the courage of our convictions.
We are now at a place of new beginnings, but the unknown can sometimes feel scary. However, like Lot’s wife, there is no turning back. This is the time for blazing trails, discovering new potentials and making leaps of faith. This is not the time to play victim, sitting on the sidelines waiting for someone else to “fix” or “save” us, nor is it the time to play the “blame game”, making scapegoats of others. Whether in our political views, personal life, or spiritual philosophy, it takes real courage to break away from the pack and think for ourselves.
In the ancient past, the Age of Aries meant conquering new territory through wars and aggression. In our enlightened 21st Century, it means conquering our collective fears and having faith in our power to create a better world through peace and freedom.
On the personal level, as well as the global level, it is crucial that we think objectively and not overreact emotionally to stress. As I mentioned above, Pluto challenging the Full Moon and Mercury, both in Libra, is a very volatile combination of planets. It is a time for world leaders (as well as individuals) to remain grounded and centered in the midst of an avalanche of external pressures. Questions regarding the abuse of force and power will come up. As global destabilization progresses, once solid institutions may take drastic measures to keep the status quo. It is important for individuals to remember that only fear can render you powerless.
Jupiter in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries for the third and final time over the past year. New growth, unlimited opportunities and unexpected changes are opening up as Jupiter signals major expansion and Uranus heralds unprecedented innovations. There is no way to hinder progress and move back into the dark ages. Illumination is a central theme for humanity now.
Venus and Mars in Virgo trine Pluto in Capricorn (all earth signs) is a very practical, healing aspect helping to ground any overly aggressive or domineering situations with practical common sense.
Once again, high-voltage fire energy is grounded by practical Saturn. Traditional values can be significantly influenced by creative and unconventional ideas while Saturn trines fiery Uranus in Aries.
Aries is the cardinal fire sign, the first sign of the zodiac. On the personality level, it is where we begin to “individuate” and stretch our egos. If your Sun sign is Aries, this is your personal Full Moon. It is time to take the initiative; be proactive, rather than sitting on the sidelines. Full Moons illuminate.
Take the time now to review where any changes have occurred in your life since the solar eclipse of 8/21/17. Aries does not wait for procrastinators! Where the sign of Aries falls in your birth chart will tell in which area (s) of life you are willing to take a risk, and/or where you are feeling restless and want to make changes. The trick with Aries is to implement change without being reckless, impatient or scattered. This full moon will illuminate your personal “works in progress”, aka your life.
