Lokah Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu – May all my thoughts, words, and actions contribute in some way to the happiness of all beings.
I chanted this mantra this morning and I released through tears.
On the heels of multiple tragedies in Paris, Beirut, Baghdad and so many daily sufferings that are innumerable, it is easy to become overwhelmed. So, I chanted. And asked what to do? The simplest of answers … Think with your heart. The heart always wins. The heart shatters fear and hatred. The heart is our gateway to human being-ness.
I sat on Friday night and watched the horror unfolding in Paris. A friend asked why I was doing that – watching and exposing myself to it. A fair question. I answered that the humanity of the amazing heart-centered acts of so many amidst the tragedy gives me hope – makes me feel like it is not all for nothing. These tragedies not only reveal the worst of us, but the best of us; the man in Lebanon who tackled the second suicide bomber and sacrificed his life to save so many others; the people of Paris who took in strangers that were stranded on the streets; the man who stopped to grab a dying girl to drag her to safety while he was running from machine gun fire. THIS is our human being-ness. In these moments, there is hope and heart and the best of us.
Ma Durga’s card came up today. She saved the world from demons before. To Her we surrender our pain, or fear, our demons real and imagined. We breathe secure in the knowing that She goes to battle for us. But we must do our part while She battles. We must stay in the heart, in love, in compassion and keep the paths of faith and the heart open. Durga has our backs.
While I was chanting, I grabbed some of my White Light Rescue Remedy items. Perfect to have handy for times like this and a reminder of “this is why we practice”.
Rudraksha Mala – Rudraksha seeds come from a tree that was formed from a tear from the eye of Shiva. The Rudraksha beads are thought to be protective and enhance spiritual connection. I love the roughness of the beads – they at once keep me grounded into the mantra and open all my chakras.
Amethyst transforms us and elevates our energy. It assists us in receiving the wisdom and transformative energies necessary to create our realities. Amethyst also calms and soothes and is a wonderful helper in times of stress and anxiety.
Purple and green Fluorite skull for the healing of the heart and reminds us to get out of our heads and into our hearts. It assists us in acceptance and the integration of challenging emotions. Fluorite also calms the mind and I love using crystal skulls for meditation.
White Light mist because we can never have enough white light in the world. Never. Bring it in. Chant it in. Surrender. Laugh. Love.
Make it ALL Holy.
Lokah Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu – Happiness for all beings.
Happy Monday, Loves! Xoxo
