Summer is the season for manifestation. We shake off the last of winter’s dust and stretch into the lazy, sun-drenched days. As the Sun climbs higher in the sky, our thoughts start turning to all the things we want to see flourish and come to fruition during this season of growth.
One way to manifest the life you want and to get things moving in a healthy and productive direction is to pay attention to your Chakra health.
What are the Chakras? From the Sanskrit for “spinning wheel,” the Chakras are energy centers in the human body which have impacts on our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. While they are undetectable on a physical level, these spinning wheels of energy influence our subtle bodies in ways that are incredibly powerful.
As their name implies, when the Chakras at the best they are spinning gently, moving old energy out and drawing new energy in. This cycle of gentle rotation, like the rotation of the Earth, keeps us growing and thriving. When the Chakras get sluggish or stuck, we may find ourselves blocked, stuck, and even ill. When they get to spinning too quickly, we may find ourselves anxious, flighty, unable to focus. Getting your Chakras spinning at optimal speed is a powerful tool for manifestation. As the old energy moves out of your Chakra centers, old and stagnant energy and patterns move out of your life. This makes room for the new, and helps to give you the energy to explore and enjoy all the blessings flowing toward you.
While there are hundreds of Chakras in the human body, the seven major Chakras are:
Root or Muladhara Chakra. This Chakra, located between your anus and genitals, is the seat of your sense of survival, safety, and groundedness.
Sacral or Svadisthathana Chakra. This Chakra, located between the navel and the pubic bone, governs sexuality, creativity, powers of manifestation, and intuition.
Solar Plexus or Manipurna Chakra. This Chakra, located between the heart and the navel, governs our personal power, our self-esteem, and our Will.
Heart or Anahata Chakra. Located in the center of the chest, this Chakra governs our sense of love, compassion, and forgiveness.
Throat or Vishuddah Chakra. Located at the base of the throat, this Chakra governs our voice, our self-expression, and our Truth.
Third Eye or Ajna Chakra. This Chakra, located between the brows, governs our Higher Wisdom, our spirituality, and our powers of perception.
Crown or Sahasara Chakra. Floating just above the crown of the head, this Chakra governs our sense of connection to All That Is.
