The Full Moon June 13th falls in 22 degrees of Sagittarius. Look to what was “seeded” fourteen days ago with the New Moon in Gemini should now bear fruit.
Sagittarius is a fire sign and symbolizes Man’s spontaneous quest for knowledge; the spirit of Prometheus stealing fire from the gods in order to enlighten humanity. The sign Sagittarius governs our personal belief systems, our philosophy of life, our spiritual, as well as political conscience. How do we perceive God/Goddess? Are we humans “locked down” in a perpetual 3D matrix of reality, or will we finally access the codes to the higher dimensions of Light? As we move into more awareness of our Galactic “being-ness”, Sagittarius charts the course for expanded consciousness.
This Full Moon in Sagittarius falls within 4 degrees of the Galactic Center, the birthing point of our universe. New Moons and Full Moons are cosmic portals which pierce through the veil of time and space allowing us to expand our perception beyond the constraints of material 3D reality. The three days prior and three days after a Full Moon are especially potent times for releasing physical, mental and emotional blockages. The peak of this particular Full Moon coincides with “Saga Dawa”, the Tibetan celebration of the birth and enlightenment of the Buddha. The Festival of the Christ is also celebrated on this Full Moon June. According to the Lucis Trust, the celebration of this Full Moon is called “World Invocation Day” and carries the “keynote of humanity aspiring to Christ Consciousness and blending many different spiritual approaches in one united act of invocation”.
During any Full Moon, the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs. This month, Sun is in the Air sign, Gemini, and the Moon is in the Fire, sign, Sagittarius. The Fire/Air polarity has a tendency to “speak first and think later”, but this could also trigger the response for much needed action. Sagittarians follows their own intuition and inner guidance tending to be optimistic, adventurous, and good humored most of the time, but can become vehement opponents when personal beliefs, political beliefs, and religious beliefs are at stake.
The shadow side of Sagittarius is fanaticism and dogma. The Full Moon is a good time to ask yourself if your political, spiritual and philosophical views reflect what you actually think, or merely regurgitate what you have been sold as the Truth. Have the courage to speak your truth; but allow others the freedom to express theirs as well. We are all spirits choosing to inhabit the illusion of the material world.
The Sagittarian Full Moon emphasizes the need to stretch out of your comfort zone and expand your horizons…open your mind…read…travel…We are never too old to learn (or teach) something new. Keeping your body active, keeps your mind active. We may not all be able to hop on a jet plane to a foreign land, but we can all spend some time in nature walking…bicycling… breathing … All this intense planetary energy focused around such an expansive Full Moon makes it perfect for a celebration: gather friends together, share experiences of other cultures and faraway places; enjoy the freedom of nature. Take the time to meditate; connect with your Spirit Guides, Guardian Angels, Power Animals… trust your intuition. The messages are there for you; just be open and listen.
This Full Moon coincides with the third (June 14 to 25) of three Grand Cross alignments involving Mars, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto. (The previous “hits” were December 17, 2013 and April 20-22, 2014). For the past 6 months, we have been under intense pressure to change and evolve out of our old comfort zones. The more resistant to change we are; the more frustrated and deflated we become. The two eclipses of last month brought a 19 year cycle to closure. This is a time of initiation. If we can put down the “cross” of judgment, criticism and blame, we pass the “test”. Sagittarius urges us to have faith and to push the envelope on what we believe is possible. There is no going backwards only forward. This is a time to shift perception from “what was” to “what can be”.
Mercury is retrograding from Cancer to Gemini this month (June 6 to July 2). While the Moon is in Cancer, we are extremely sensitive to criticism or others’ moods (especially close family members). Family “stuff” may come up repeating a familiar pattern, so this is a great time to finally resolve long standing issues.
This is also a great time for cleaning out old junk….physically and emotionally. Don’t hold on to things that have outlived their usefulness in your life; past them on to someone who can really use them. This is the perfect time to take your deceased great aunt’s wardrobe out of storage and donate it to a local charity.
Once Mercury moves back into its own sign of Gemini, it may seem that you are twice as busy, but only getting half the work done. It’s really easy for time to slip through your fingers with a Gemini retrograde. Keep focused; make lists; send yourself reminders (that’s why we have “smart phones”). Speaking of which, this retrograde is not the best time to buy expensive electronic gadgets: computers, cell phones, and cars. If you must (and we all know there are exceptions to the rule), please be sure to keep your sales receipts and warranties until after July 2nd. This is vacation time, so travel is fine; just be sure to double check your packing list, make copies of all important documents, and choose the travel insurance option.
There is an “up” side to Gemini retrograde; friends that you have not heard from in ages (usually high school or college) suddenly get in touch. You may suddenly find long hidden “treasures” (photos, letters, poems, journals) while you are sorting through old “stuff”. (Mercury in Cancer is the “Hallmark” card signature.) During this retrograde any type of re-editing, re-writing re-searching or re-selling is appropriate. Job interviews are fine; you may just have to wait a bit longer than usual to get a call back. As usual with retrogrades, important communications (like checks) may be held up. Your own birth chart will tell how well you do with Mercury retrogrades; not everyone feels them the same way.
On June 21, the Sun moves into 0 degrees of Cancer in the Northern Hemisphere. This is known as the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. Our ancestors celebrated fire and water rituals at sacred sites around the globe when the Earth was at her most abundant. They equated light with life. Now we know that more light equals more solar radiation; and as our bodies adjust to more light, they also adjust to increased cosmic frequencies. On December 21, 2012, our Sun began its 36 year progression through the Galactic Center. We are breaking cosmic waters for the “shifting” into the next stage of human evolution…celebrate!
