Hello Everyone, Happy Valentine’s Day ! On this Full Moon, celebrate your Heart Chakra!
February is Astrology Month…celebrate with a reading!!
FULL MOON IN LEO FEBRUARY 14, 2014
This month’s Full Moon falls on Feb 14, Valentine’s Day, in the sign of Leo, the sign most associated with the heart, self-expression, and the courage to follow your dreams. Leo symbolizes passion, spontaneity, and the life affirming positive energy of the sun. Leo is the outer expression of our inner child’s need to shine. Nothing makes a Leo happier than to be appreciated for their expansive generosity. The symbol of the Lion (Leo) has been used by royalty for ages; we call our heroes “Lion-hearted”. The Sun is in Leo’s opposite sign of Aquarius right now. This polarity shows that Heart ( Leo) and Mind ( Aquarius) must work as one to create our vision for the future. Pure ideology and technology are less than useless without compassion and feeling. As we celebrate Valentine’s Day with this Full Moon, it is a wonderful opportunity to look past all the mundane commercialism and really embrace Love. On that day, feel your Heart send out a ‘beam” of Love and Compassion (like a solar wave) to all you meet, and thank the Universe for all its beauty. Even if you are having a challenging day, it is a great practice, and you will be amazed at how the energy shifts around you!
Mercury is in retrograde motion in the sign of Aquarius until Feb 28th. This is not a good time for major eletronic purchases : computers, cell phones, TV’s, cars, etc. If you must make a purchase, keep track of the warranty and the receipt. Computer glitches seem synonymous with Mercury retro, so it’s a good idea to keep your anti-virus software updated. Checks may get delayed due to electronic error, and February is not the best month to file your tax return electronically. Gathering information, researching and re-editing is a good way to use retrograde Mercury. In fact Mercury retrograde is a great time to reorganize or redo files. It’s also a good time for donating outdated or outworn tech gadgets. Longer power outages due to winter storms may be on the increase this month.
The Grand Cardinal Cross:
We are still under the influence of the Jupiter,Pluto, Mars, Uranus Grand Cross in the Cardinal signs (see last month’s Astrology update) through April 2014. This itensifies the need for individual courage to make collective changes utilizing quantum thinking and creativity, not violence. We are all aware of the massive changes going on at the global level, but the immense pressure (and release valve) of this planetary dance is also felt by each one of us individually. The signs most affected are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Where they fall in your birth chart indicates the areas of experience.
Neptune: At the Full Moon time, Neptune is in the watery sign of Pisces and makes a positive aspect with the Moon’s North Node. Neptune is associated with spirituality, the arts and creativity, oil and water (perfumes and aromatherapy); the subconscious, dreams, inspiration and imagination ( the “muse”). It is very positive for spiritual healing work and artistic endeavors; however, it may take some effort to “keep your feet on the ground” and not get swept up in some tidal wave of collective chaos, which includes politics and religion. Neptune was last in the sign of Pisces in the mid 1800’s when widespread economic woes in Europe led to Civil War in the US. Major transcendental movements, mediumship, and religious sects were formed during this time, and opium and anesthesia came into popular use as Neptune’s signature is “escape” from the body. Neptune’s message is that we acknowledge a spiritual dimension to our existence, and that we honor our connection to Divine Spirit. Drugs, alcohol, and addictions of all kinds are merely ways that our psyche contrives to connect us with what it believes is “spirit” when “things”of the material world seem empty. Meditation, art, and nature are all much healthier options.
In ancient Egypt, Bastet (or Bast) was shown as a slim female cat- headed Goddess holding a musical instrument known as the sistrum. Bastet is associated with music, dance and joy. You can call on her feline energy during this Full Moon/Valentine’s Day to give yourself the gift of Love. Put on your favorite music….light incense and a red, white or pink candle. If you have some colorful scarves, use them to decorate your altar. If you have favorite crystals, stones or shamanic tools, use them. Relax, sit, lie down, or dance…do whatever feels comfortable, just remember to breathe. Ask your guides to protect your sacred space, and to allow any messages or images to come clearly into your consciousness. Bastet shakes the sacred rattle or sistrum to quiet your heartbeat and remove any fears or anxiety from your mind. You feel the energy of joy move through you…it is really your kundalini moving up your chakras with the energy of this Full Moon. Feel a warm pulsing energy of liquid light move from the soles of your feet to your crown center at the top of your head, until it feels like you are wearing a beautiful crown of light. You also feel your heart chakra fill with light and joy and love. You may ask Bastet to ignite your inner creativity and passion; to open your heart to love; to heal old emotional wounds; to bless the Earth and all your relations….anything that comes to your mind is correct. If you have been working on a stalled project, ask her to awaken the fire of inspiration within you. This is your Valentine to yourself! Have fun with it.
