She is currently the Executive Director/Founder of the Integrative Mental Health University, IMHU.org and teaches a series of online courses on how to optimize wellness (while minimizing use of psychiatric medications). Emma is passionate about the spiritual side of maintaining health. She feels it is the cornerstone that must be in place for wellness–alongside the biological, psychological and social issues that need TLC. Her spiritual journey began in 1967 when she was a student of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, a Zen Buddhist enlightened master. More recently, from 2001-2012, she spent 6 months of each year in Brazil studying spiritual healing with some of the finest healers in the Spiritist tradition. She is currently affiliated with the Self Realization Fellowship.
