The heavens have been putting on quite the spectacular display over the past month. We have just weathered two eclipses and rather intense Mercury retrograde. The Pleiades constellation and the planet Venus shine brightly as comet son streams towards Earth. This is Thanksgiving; for the Earth Mother and our connection to Spirit; for our families and loved ones. In the overwhelming din of 3D, it is easy to forget that we live in and vast and beautiful universe. Just look up…the stars are always there to remind us. Have a very blessed Thanksgiving! Definitely a time of signs and wonders. Last month I watched the full moon rise over the Great Pyramid in Egypt; this month over the beach in Florida. Wherever we may be in our lives this is the time for offering Thanksgiving.
Full Moon in 25 Degrees Taurus – November 17
This month’s Full Moon falls in 25 degrees of the Earth sign Taurus; the sun is in the opposite water sign, Scorpio. Both of these signs deal with our security barometers: Taurus with material resources, possessions and physical/sensual gratification; Scorpio with emotional security which usually translates as power and sexuality, but in its highest form is spiritual mastery of the physical plane.
Full Moons are very sensitive times emotionally, and this one is particularly so. Both Scorpio Sun and Taurus Moon fall in fixed signs (they can be stubborn). The former tends to keep emotions hidden, the latter tends to resist change; both can be controlling. This Full Moon will help us to clear our energy and any psychic debris which may be left over from the Scorpio solar eclipse on Nov 3rd. Some of may be clearing out old relationships, as well as old habits, fears and addictions.
Emotionally, physically and psychically we are going deep to cleanse and heal old hurts, wounds and fears. The earth and water signs bring up fears about survival; panic buttons get pushed. The Full Moon in Taurus rules earthquakes, tidal waves, and tsunamis. As I write this, a devastating storm just hit the Philippines, while earthquakes and aftershocks continue to rattle S. America and India.
Many psychics have spoken about how weather patterns mirror the collective unconscious; others have spoken about impending earth changes. But what we perceive as Truth is our selective choice; and how we react to what we perceive is also a choice. Mother Nature can be unpredictable, but she has always been that. Perhaps it is our own modern technology that separates us from nature’s cycles and causes us to fear her. However, our impulse for self-preservation is a basic healthy human instinct. Even fear does not necessarily have to be a bad word; nor does it have to be immobilizing or self – destructive. Fear can often be a motivating factor in manifesting concentrated action. It is our choice whether to use that action by working together for the common good of all, or to split divisively into greedy, fear-mongering packs. It is no accident that the term “battleground states” is used to drive us even further apart. The words “divide and conquer” are not written into the Constitution of the U.S., and hopefully, they never will be.
You will feel this Full Moon wherever you have the signs Taurus and Scorpio falling in your birth chart. Taurus is a feminine earth sign ruled by Venus; her motto is “Make love, not war”. The Moon in Taurus is your comfort zone…where you find your “security blanket”. The Moon in Taurus is represented by the Great Earth Mother, nurturing and safe. Taureans appreciate the finer things in life, and usually take great pride in what they create. Their artistic talents can be expressed through music, art, dance, fashion, architecture, and especially food. They can also be very adept in the financial world of banking and real estate. They like to feel solid ground beneath their feet, and do best when they can spend time in nature, or at least a garden. A Full Moon in Taurus is the perfect time to indulge you in a massage; beautiful dinner; concert; or quiet weekend. If life “intervenes”, plug in some relaxing music, light some incense and take care of business as stress free as you can.
Planetary Pictures During the Full Moon:
Saturn, the “Great Teacher” of the zodiac is also in the watery sign of Scorpio with this Full Moon. Scorpio rules money, power, corruption, and Saturn demands that we face the truth, no matter how unpleasant. The Sun is conjunct Saturn with this Full Moon indicating the need for us to learn the lessons of personal power, authority and responsibility. Both Saturn and Pluto are in mutual reception for the next 2 years, which means that we will be dealing with “power issues” and authority on a mass consciousness level. The “powers that be” (Saturn) can only be called to take responsibility for their actions, (whether it is big business, government, or religions), when we reclaim our voices as empowered individuals.
